Graduate Student Symposium

  • Dates: March 12th - 13th 2004
  • Location: Centre for Russian and East European Studies, Munk Centre for International Studies, University of Toronto

The field of Ukrainian Studies has undergone profound change since the dissolution of the Soviet Union . New questions have emerged on the research agenda and new methodological tools have become available to explore the dynamics of political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in Ukrainian society.

The purpose of this interdisciplinary student symposium is to bring together young scholars from North America for two days of presentations and intensive discussions centred around the theme of Ukrainian identity.

This symposium will provide a forum for graduate students to meet future colleagues in the profession and interact with scholars who are shaping the agenda of Ukrainian Studies in North America now.
